Terms of use
A plain-English summary of the terms for using the Bus Times website. The binding version is the full Mobicia terms and conditions; where the two differ, that document governs.
The service
Bus Times is a free live bus arrival service operated by Mobicia Limited. It needs no account and costs nothing to use. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it, and we do not guarantee that the site will be available uninterrupted.
How accurate the times are
This matters more than anything else on this page. Arrival times are predictions, not promises. They come from transport operators and public data feeds — TfL Countdown for London, the Bus Open Data Service and operator feeds elsewhere — and they are only ever as good as the source.
Countdowns can jump, stall, or disappear when a vehicle's tracker drops out, when a bus is diverted, or when an operator's feed lags. Scheduled times shown where live tracking is unavailable are timetable data, not observations of a real vehicle.
Please do not rely on Bus Times alone where being late has real consequences — a hospital appointment, a flight, a last bus home. Check the operator directly for anything critical. We are not liable for journeys missed, connections lost, or costs incurred through reliance on a prediction.
What you may do
Use the site freely for your own travel, share links to stops and routes, and add it to your home screen. That is what it is for.
What you may not do
- Scrape the site or call our API by automated means, or route our data into another product or service.
- Attempt to bypass, overload, or probe the API, its rate limits, or its authentication.
- Interfere with advertising or consent mechanisms, or misrepresent the service as your own.
- Republish our data commercially without written permission.
If you want programmatic access to transit data, go to the underlying open sources — TfL Unified API and the Bus Open Data Service are free and designed for it.
Ownership
The Bus Times name, logo, design, and software belong to Mobicia Limited. The underlying transit data belongs to its respective operators and publishers, and is used under their terms. Map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap using OpenStreetMap data.
Advertising
The website is funded by advertising. Ads are supplied by third parties and their presence is not an endorsement. How consent and data work is described on the privacy page.
Links to other sites
Where we link out — to operators, app stores, or our own help centre — those sites have their own terms and we are not responsible for their content.
Changes
We update these terms as the service changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
